Life has many ups and downs, mostly downs. That is just how life is. It’s inevitable. As we continue living and going on about our life, it is key to find a source of happiness to keep your head above water. Reflecting back on memories is a great way to keep from drowning in sadness that easily snatches people in our day and age. When I want to be happy, a certain memory floats back to me above all the others.
One of my best friends, Lorrie Klein, is the source of this memory. We were going on a band trip to Magic Springs Amusement Park. I don’t think I have ever laughed as hard as I did that day. She is one of the best people to spend time with, especially in an amusement park filled with thrilling rides. Our band director let us roam free in the park, which of course made us pretty hyper and crazy. The weather was a little cold, but it was easily forgotten as we rode the rides and ran around the park. It was hardly raining, which made it even more cold, but that didn’t stop us from loving the day. No one was there besides our band and a few others, so lines were extremely short. We rode rides over and over again, adrenaline pumping.
We met some awesome people as we went through the day. The park attendants were amazing and super nice, and also some were super cute. We rode rides over and over again to talk to them, and it was pretty cool to make some new friends. We had so many jokes and we never stopped laughing the whole day. We talked to anyone we passed, and it was really cool to be able to talk to people randomly instead of being shy. The people were always nice and responded back or made faces at us. It was honestly not a good day to be at an amusement park, but that didn’t stop us from loving every minute. I’m extremely glad for this amazing memory, and especially glad that I go to grow closer to one of my best friends.
